Annual Retention
Registration with the GCC is not a one-off event. Chiropractors have to apply for retention of registration on an annual basis and on each occasion the Registrar must be satisfied that they continue to be of good character and are physically and mentally fit to practise. The annual retention fee is £1,000 or £100 for those who wish to be registered as 'non-practising' for the relevant retention year.
As from 1 September 2004 chiropractors will also be required to complete 30 hours of continuing professional development each year.
We distribute detailed Retention Information Packs in September each year, but we are happy to provide advice at any time.
Failure to meet the requirements for retention of registration by the deadline of 30 November each year may result in removal from the Register.
