Council
The General Council is made up of seven lay people (non chiropractors) and seven chiropractors, independently appointed by the Appointments Commission.
All must comply with the GCC's:
- Code of Conduct for Members of Council, which includes a requirement to maintain an up-to-date entry in the Register of Members' Interests
- Guidance to Council Members on separation of function
General Council normally meets four times a year. The present Council members are

Council members have been appointed for three or four years; 10 with effect from 9 February 2009 and four (where indicated*) with effect from 1 May 2009.
