The Code of Professional Practice - Consultation

This consultation is now closed.

In 2024, the General Chiropractic Council (GCC) held a consultation to gather insights and views on proposed Code of Professional Practice for chiropractors. This was the third stage of an extensive development and consultation process (preceded by a scoping review and code conversation).

This formal consultation opened on 22 July 2024, and closed at midnight on Friday 27 September 2024. In total, we recieved 121 written responses during the consultation, and participated in ten engagement events with interested parties.

The Code of Professional Practice was agreed by Council on 5 December 2024.

The GCC has published the following reports following the consultation:

• Independent report setting out the findings of the consultation
• GCC Response to the independent report which highlights the changes made to the proposed Code of Professional Practice following the consultation.
• The revised Equality and Welsh Language Impact Assessment considers how the new strategy may affect different groups of people, particularly those who are vulnerable, have lived experience of barriers to accessing care or services or have characteristics protected by equality legislation. We also considered (in line with our responsibilities) how it may affect opportunities to use the Welsh language.
