The General Chiropractic Council (GCC) held a consultation to gather insights and views on the proposed Code of Professional Practice for chiropractors. This consultation opened on 22 July 2024, and closed at midnight on Friday 27 September 2024.
The new Code of Professional Practice is set to replace the current Code: Standards of conduct, performance, and ethics for chiropractors (2016), commonly referred to as “the Code.”
These documents establish the standards of professional conduct, performance, ethics, and proficiency for anyone wishing to register as a chiropractor with the GCC. They are crucial for ensuring high-quality professional practice and informing patients about the quality of care they should expect from chiropractors. Similar to the 2016 Code, the new proposal integrates the Standards of Proficiency and Code of Practice as outlined in the Chiropractors Act (1994).
We prepared supporting documents to explain the proposed changes in more detail:.
