If you are a provider considering offering a chiropractic degree course, the Quality Assurance Handbook will help you understand the process you need to undertake to show you meet our Educational Standards, and the Forms and Templates you will need to complete.

If you are an existing provider considering offering an existing chiropractic degree course at a new satellite campus outside of the UK, please refer to the recognition of satellite programmes document.

Education Visitors

As part of the General Chiropractic Council’s approval and quality assurance of chiropractic degree programmes, a panel of education visitors is appointed by the Education Committee. The panel plays an advisory role.

The education visitors analyse new programmes to establish whether they meet our education standards. They also conduct approval and monitoring visits to approved education providers.

Conditions of approval and recommendations are given to each new institution as an outcome of the approval process. Reports for all our approved programmes can be found here.

Annual Monitoring

Education providers are then subject to an annual monitoring process to ensure that the programmes continue to meet those conditions and recommendations.

We are currently operating a virtual/in-person hybrid model of programme approval and monitoring visits.

Complaints about programmes

We have a clear policy and procedure for handling complaints about approved chiropractic programmes
