On 26 November 2020, the Government published guidance for EEA-qualified and Swiss health and care professionals practising in the UK after 1 January 2021.

You may be eligible to apply under the 2007 EU regulations if you are:

  • Swiss nationals
  • non-EEA member state nationals who are the spouse or dependant of a Swiss national
  • UK nationals settled in Switzerland
  • non-EEA member state nationals who are the spouse or dependant of UK nationals settled in Switzerland

Additionally, the regulations will only apply if :

  • your qualification was obtained in the EEA or Switzerland before 11pm (GMT) on 31 December 2020
  • you started but had not completed a Swiss or EEA qualification before 11pm (GMT) on 31 December 2020
  • you hold a third country qualification that was recognised in Switzerland before 11pm (GMT) on 31 December 2020
  • you completed an application to have your qualification recognised in Switzerland before 11pm (GMT) on 31 December 2020

Please be aware that there is an English language requirement that must be met in order to register with the GCC. 

If you do not meet the criteria above, you may still be eligible to apply for registration, but first must pass our Test of Competence.

Transfer from non-practising to practising registration

This section is for chiropractors who are currently registered as non-practising, but who wish to transfer to practising registration. Please email your complete application to us. Any documents that are being provided by a third party should be emailed to us direct from that third party.
