Test of Competence

Chiropractors wishing to practise in the UK but who hold a chiropractic qualifications achieved outside the EU are required to pass our Test of Competence (TOC) before they can apply to register and practise in the UK.

To pass the TOC you must demonstrate to a panel of chiropractors that you meet the standards set out in The Code : Standards of conduct, performance and ethics for chiropractors and that you will be able to practise safely in the UK.

We run four TOC interviews each year.

The Timetable for TOC Interviews in 2018 is

TOC Interview Date Closing Date for Applications
Thursday 25th January 2018  CLOSED
Thursday 15th March 2018  CLOSED
Thursday 21st June 2018    CLOSED
Thursday 20th September 2018  Friday 10th August 2018       (5pm UK time)

You should carefully consider which interview date to apply for. We advise you to apply well before the closing date as places on each interview date are limited and places often fill up before then. Also, previous candidates have reported that it can take some time to both collate all of the documentation that is required and to prepare themselves for the interview.

To help people taking the TOC, we have prepared a guide for you read before applying and then regularly refer to during the application process. You can find it here.
