The General Chiropractic Council (GCC) held a consultation to gather insights and views on the proposed strategy 2026-2030. This consultation opened on 02 July 2025, and closed on 27 August 2025.

Code of Professional Practice (2024)

Code of Practice Consultation logoThe General Chiropractic Council (GCC) held a consultation to gather insights and views on the proposed Code of Professional Practice for chiropractors. This consultation opened on 22 July 2024 and closed on Friday 27 September 2024: 

This was the third stage of the extensive development and consultation process to develop a new set of standards.

The Code Conversation (2024)

Code Conversation logoFollowing the Code scoping review (below) the General Chiropractic Council (GCC) held a development discussion, titled "the Code Conversation" to inform the development of the replacement for the Code:

The discussion period began with a blog from Nick Jones in March 2024, and included a number of events - both online and in person - to get a broad range of views from across the profession.

Council agreed the Principles and Values of the new code on 20 March 2024, and the draft Code was agreed for consultation (see above) on 19 June 2024.

This was the second stage of the extensive development and consultation process to develop a new set of standards.

The Code Scoping Review (2023)

In the latter part of 2023 the GCC carried out a scoping review of The Code (5th edition) to evaluate whether it remained fit for purpose, was up to date, maintained best practice and had responded to developments in the profession and wider healthcare sector. The purpose of the scoping review was to gather evidence to inform a subsequent review of the Code and any revisions to it, should they be required.

This was the first stage of the extensive development and consultation process to develop a new set of standards.
