Education Standards and Quality Assurance

Our education standards cover requirements relating to the:

  • level and nature of the degree programme
  • outcomes that students need to achieve
  • nature of the clinical experience and practice that students need to have before they can qualify with a chiropractic degree.

Our quality assurance handbook provides a step by step guide to our degree approval process. It allows existing and potential providers of chiropractic degrees to ensure that they are able to develop and administer programmes that meet our standards.

We have also developed supplementary guidance that covers:

Forms for education providers

As part of our approval and quality assurance system for chiropractic degrees, providers need to keep the GCC informed of any substantive changes to programmes as and when they occur. Download the form here.

Providers also need to comply with our annual monitoring and self-assessment arrangements. The form is available here.

For prospective providers planning to offer a new chiropractic degree programme, please download the checklist here.

Further information on using the GCC brand and identity mark is available here.
