Use of ‘Chiropractic’ in a Company Name

What is a Letter of Authorisation?

Companies House will require a GCC Letter of Authorisation if the following words are used within a limited company application:

Chiropractic
Chiropractor
Chiropractitioner
Chiropractic practitioner
Chiropractic physician

This requirement only extends to limited companies (Ltd). There is no requirement for a Letter of Authorisation if you use any other type of corporate structure such as a sole trader or partnership.

To obtain your Letter of Authorisation, complete the online form below. The GCC is unable to send the Letter of Authorisation directly to Companies House - you will be provided with the letter by email. You should allow up to five working days to process your request.

If the company is not a chiropractic clinic (for instance if it provides services direct to chiropractors) please select "no". We may need to speak to you to understand more about your plans.

Will all clinics trading under the company name provide chiropractic services only by practising registered individuals?

Yes

Address that the letter of authorisation needs to be addressed, including postcode.

Leave blank if you are not a registered chiropractor. If you are a new graduate, without a registration number, please type "New Graduate" into the address field, alongside your address.
