This section provides information for chiropractors and other health professionals who have concerns about a chiropractor.
Chiropractors have a duty to ensure patients receive the highest standard of care throughout their treatment. If you have a concern about a chiropractor’s ability to practise safely please contact the GCC.
We can investigate concerns raised about the following:
- Misconduct
- Poor performance
- A criminal conviction or caution in the British Isles (or elsewhere for an offence which would be a criminal offence if committed in England or Wales)
- Physical or mental ill-health
- Lack of the necessary proficiency in the English language to be able to practise chiropractic safely in the UK
Concerns we are not able to deal with
There are other concerns that we may not be best placed to deal with. For example, we cannot mediate in practice disputes. In those instances, please contact your professional association.
Local investigation and resolution are generally the best way to deal with concerns so long as this does not leave the public at risk of harm.
As part of our investigation into your concern we will need to share details with the chiropractor. If you have concerns about this, please make us aware when you submit your form, detailing the reasons why. Please note that the law provides legal protection against victimisation or dismissal for individuals who raise genuine concerns and expose malpractice in the workplace. If you decide to be anonymous, please be aware that this could have an impact on the case which may not be able to progress without your input.
