As required under our legislation, the GCC Annual Report for 2025 was laid before Parliament in May. It captures a transitional year for the organisation and the profession, marking the period between the conclusion of our previous strategy and the introduction of our new five-year strategy for 2026–2030.

Throughout 2025, our focus was on maintaining strong delivery of our core regulatory functions, while preparing for a number of significant developments that will shape the future of chiropractic regulation.

A central part of this was preparing for the introduction of the new Code of Professional Practice, which had been approved in late 2024 and comes into force on 1 January 2026. During 2025, we supported registrants through guidance, engagement activity and resources to ensure the profession is ready to meet these updated expectations.

Alongside this, we developed and consulted on the GCC Strategy 2026–2030, engaging with stakeholders across the profession before its approval in October 2025. The strategy sets a clear direction for the next phase of our work, with the new Code forming the foundation for how we uphold standards across education, registration and practice.

The report reflects a year of delivery, preparation and collaboration, highlighting continued work across registration, fitness to practise, education, research and stakeholder engagement, alongside activity to strengthen education and training and expand recognised routes into the profession.

The report is available in Welsh, in line with our commitment to the Welsh language standards, and includes a “2025 at a glance” infographic summarising key performance data for the year.
