Mandatory vaccine in healthcare settings

The government recently announced that people entering any adult care home registered with CQC, unless exempt, would be required to have received the Covid-19 vaccine. Subsequently, the government consulted on extending vaccination requirements to other health and social care settings.  

The consultation proposes that, if introduced, requirements would apply to frontline health and care workers ie. those with face-to-face contact with patients and clients through the delivery of services as part of a CQC regulated activity.

The consultation has now closed, and the Department of Heath and Social Care will consider the feedback and determine next steps.
