Statement from the GCC concerning recent violence across the UK

We are shocked and disappointed by the unacceptable public disorder violence taking place across the United Kingdom in recent days and acknowledge the impact this will have on patients and Chiropractic professionals.

Respecting people and treating them without prejudice is core to working in a regulated medical profession. Chiropractors and their colleagues should not have to tolerate racism, discrimination or abuse. Chiropractors are also required to ensure that their beliefs and values do not impact patient care.

The GCC is committed to challenging and addressing any discrimination raised with us and to supporting Chiropractors to do the same in their practices.

We ask everyone within the chiropractic profession to support each other where we can during this difficult time, recognising that many will be working on their own. We encourage Chiropractors to contact us if they need support at this time. We will do our best to help and/or signpost to other organisations that can offer the help that is needed.
